This Act is formulated to prevent and remediate soil and groundwater pollution, ensure the sustainable use of soil and groundwater, enhance the living environment, and protect public health. It consists of 8 Chapters divided into 57 articles.Competent authorities at all levels shall, regularly monitor the quality of the soil and groundwater, and perform verification of sites suspected of having soil and groundwater pollution, and control pollution sources and investigate the state of environmental pollution.

The Regulation of the Minister of Environment is composed of 23 Paragraphs. According to article 91a, paragraph 1, of the German Constitution (Grundgesetz) measures on the improvement of production methods, working conditions, management and in general in the agricultural, fishery, forestry and water sector shall be taken with the agreement of regional governments. For this purpose a common frame work is devised and every year within the 1 March the Länder submit a general working plan to the Federal Minister for Nutrition, Agriculture and Forestry for approvement within the said frame work. The Act consists of 14 articles.

This Decree defines the content of a Extraction Waste Management Plan and concerns permits as defined in section 8.1. of the Environment Protection Act or section 1 of the Act on the Pollution of Surface Waters. In particular, the Decree defines the conditions the competent authority shall attach to permits. These conditions regard the operation of waste treatment facilities and aim at the protection of water and soil.

La présente loi autorise la ratification de la réglementation commune aux Etats membres du CILSS sur l’homologation des pesticides, révisée et adoptée par le Conseil des Ministres du CILSS, le 16 décembre 1999 à N’Djaména (Tchad), dont le but est de mettre en commun (dans un cadre sous-régional de coopération) les expériences et l’expertise des Etats membres pour l’évaluation et l’homologation des pesticides afin d’assurer leur utilisation rationnelle et judicieuse, ainsi que la protection de la santé humaine et de l’environnement.

This Act makes provision for a national water policy and for the establishment of the Water and Sewerage Authority and concerns several aspects of water resources management and policy. The Government shall promote a national policy for water and sewerage in Grenada. The Authority is established as a body corporate and shall be a successor to the Central Water Commission. Assets and liabilities of Central Water Commission shall be transferred to the Authority.
