Le présent décret crée et délimite un périmètre d'amélioration pastorale de l'Arid (Cercle de Midelt, province de Khenifra). La création de cette zone vise à limiter la dégradation des pâturages et en assurer la reconstitution en vue d’une exploitation rationnelle. Par ailleurs, les associations d’élevage constituées dans les limites de ce périmètre antérieurement à la publication de ce décret doivent être déclarés aux administratives locales.

Decree on principles and procedures regarding drought management.

This Decree lays down the principles and procedures to be applied in case of drought. This Decree covers water management, agricultural techniques, seed and plant diversity, irrigation techniques, economic and social support, planning of pasture feeding and land use, pest management and any measures to implement urgent action and restrictions in arid and irrigated agricultural land. Moreover, it sets up the related institutional framework, which includes the following: Agricultural Drought Management Board; Monitoring and Early Warning Committee; Risk Assessment Committee; Flow Data Unit.

Article 7.1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Lease contract for agricultural land, destined for haymaking and grazing, pertaining to public or municipal property shall be concluded for the maximum period of three years”.

Based on a broad literature review, this publication discusses rural women’s time poverty in agriculture, elaborates on its possible causes and implications and provides insight into the various types of constraints that affect the adoption of solutions for reducing work burden. This paper raises questions about the adequacy of women’s access to technologies, services and infrastructure and about the control women have over their time, given their major contributions to agriculture.

The opportunity to gather food in forests is diminishing and dietary diversity is being narrowed.
