Article 7.1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Owners, possessors, tenants, including lease holders, of agricultural land plots with area of 100 ha and over with a view of conservation and reproduction of soil fertility shall ensure planting of no less than 10 percent of total area with legume grasses”.

The purpose of this Act is to contribute to the strengthening of the agricultural competitiveness, the balanced development of the national economy, and the preservation of the environment of national land through the stabilization of farmers' management and the improvement of productivity, by stipulating necessary matters for the ownership, utilization, preservation, etc. of farmland in order to utilize and manage farmland efficiently.
This Order sets forth the procedure for managing of agrochemical certificate of a field and a land plot, a document containing data on the agrochemical characteristics of soils and the state of their contamination with toxic substances and radionuclides, the form of which is attached in the Annex I.
The purpose of the present Act is the economic and expedient use of the soil; the protection and care of the environment and, in particular the conservation or reinstatement of the sustainable purity of the air, water and soil, as well as the avoidance of noise; the conservation or reinstatement of a healthy nature, the protection of the indigenous fauna and flora and their natural living spaces, of the cultural heritage and, finally, in particular that of housing and recreational areas.

This Act makes provision for the conservation, use, management and control of land situated in mountain catchment areas. "Mountain catchment area" means any area declared by the Minister under section 2 to be a mountain catchment area.
This Act consists of 44 sections divided into 3 Parts. It regulates livestock and agricultural operations. It includes regulations for spreading manure or compost for all livestock operations in Alberta. The manure spreading regulations include requirements for manure incorporation, soil nitrogen and salinity limits, setback distances, record keeping and soil testing. The Natural Resources Conservation Board is responsible for the inspection, approval and authorization of livestock operations (for example seasonal feeding and bedding sites) and manure application.
