Item 3 of the Article 8 acquires a new wording: «Rent and the modalities of collection thereof shall be established on contractual basis. Land granted in lease cannot be granted in sublease. The amount of rent granted to foreigners except for agricultural land shall be calculated in conformity with the rates of land charges with the application of coefficient established by the Government».

This Regulation governs the procedure regulating the acquisition of non-agricultural plots of land by national and foreign subjects in Lithuania. There are detailed provisions relating to the procedure for submitting and considering applications as well as issuing authorizations for the acquisition of non-agricultural plots of land. The county governor shall consider applications for the acquisition of land (sect. 13).

This Agreement consists of 14 articles and it shall be subject to the provisions of Reciprocal Encouragement and Protection of Investment between the two Parts (art. 1). The Government of Sudan shall grant to the Government of Syria a land for exploitation located in Abu Quta-Province Alhsahisa situated in the State of Aljazeera with an area of 30,000 Faddan without any restriction rights (art. 2). The exploitation of the aforementioned land shall be valid for 50 years (art. 3).

The First Nations Land Management Act (FNLMA) was passed by the federal Parliament in 1999 on the initiative of fourteen Indian Act Bands wishing to escape the land management provisions of the Indian Act in order to improve their capacities and opportunities for economic development. The Act provides the term "first nation" meaning an Indian Act band named in a schedule. Additional First Nations may request the Governor-in-Council to have the Act applied to them.
