This Act established requirements for the management and protection of caves and their resources on Federal lands including indian lands, including allowing the land managing agencies to withhold the location of caves from the public, and requiring permits for any removal or collecting activities in caves on Federal lands. "Cave resource" includes any material or substance occurring naturally in caves on Federal lands, such as animal life, plant life, paleontological deposits, sediments, minerals, speleogens, and speleothems.

La Ley limita el desarrollo urbano en las zonas rurales. A tal fin, las municipalidades deberán identificar, sobre la base de criterios reglamentarios, suelos no urbanizables en las zonas rurales (art. 2º). Los usos en suelos no urbanizables se clasifican en permitidos, autorizables, incompatibles o prohibidos, en función de la compatibilidad del uso propuesto con la utilización de esos suelos para otros fines (art. 3º).

This Act imposes a charge on the capital gains deriving from the sale of any land and grants powers to the Governor-General to impose an additional charge on concessions made under this Act in respect of special development areas as defined by this Act. The Act further provides for the assessment of gains deriving from sale and the collection of duty by the Commissioner, appeals against decisions of the Commissioner and regulation-making powers and prescribes offences.

This Act regulates the management of commissioners’ land, i.e. the lands acquired by the Territories with Territorial funds before, on or after June 27, 1969; public lands the administration of which has before, on or after June 27, 1969, been transferred by the Governor in Council to the Territories; all roads, streets, lanes and trails on public lands, and lands acquired by the Territories pursuant to tax sale proceedings (sect. 2) The Act but does not apply in respect of any mines or minerals under or within such lands.

This Act concerns the management of lands within a radius of two miles beyond the municipal boundaries of the city of Roseau (“controlled lands”). No sale or transfer of controlled lands, or any dealing in any right, estate or interest in such lands, or any agreement for the same, shall be of effect in law or equity without the approval of the Development and Planning Corporation. Construction of buildings on controlled lands requires a licence granted for the purpose by the Central Housing and Planning Authority.

This Act regulates the use of agricultural land for purposes of protection of the soil and the landscape. Agricultural land is land used for cultivation or pasture, which is registered for tax purposes as an agricultural unit (sect. 1). The Act does not apply to agricultural land which is not used as such (sect. 2). Regulation making powers of the Government are described in sections 6A and 6B. Observation of provisions of the present Act shall be supervised by County Councils. Use of land requires notification and in certain circumstances a permit of the County Council. (13 sections)

This Act amends the Land Development Ordinance 1935 which aimed to provide for the systematic development and alienation of State Land in Sri Lanka. Under the amendements, the Government Agent shall not recover any fee for the registration of a permit (sect. 2). Every grant on which land is to be alienated shall contain the extent and description of the boundaries of such land.
