This Act provides for the establishment of the Muree-Kahuta Development Authority, defines its powers and functions and provides for its administration and functioning.Powers and functions of the Authority include: preparation, implementation and enforcement of schemes for development of agriculture and industry, forest conservation, preservation of wildlife, development of irrigation facilities, improvement of water supply, sewerage, drainage and environmental improvement; acquisition of property; and sale, lease or disposal of property.The Act further provides for: powers of the Authority

Regional Act No. 11 amending and supplementing Regional Act No. 42 on forestry.

Particular amendments are hereby laid down to Regional Act No. 42 on forestry, with regard to the approval procedure for the programme on forestry and the implementation of projects. Article 11 on the fire-fighting service is replaced by the text laid down in article 5 hereto.

Articles 6, 9, 14, 30 have either been amended or new paragraphs have been added. The present Law also amends new articles of the Village Law of 1924, the Law on Natural Disasters 1959, and the Tourism Incentives Act of 1982. The formation of the technical teams is re-defined. The in-forest pastures and grazelands are re-defined by a committee set up by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and cannot be used for any other purposes unless their allocation purposes are modified.

Upper Austria Forest Land Division Law.

Article 1 of the above-mentioned Law establishes that the division of forest land as a result of which a remaining part of land would reach no longer the minimum size for forestry management is forbidden. The minimum size is 1 ha and a minimum width of 40 m. However, if the public interest prevails such divisions are permitted as, for instance, in case of water works, mining activities, energy resources, improvement of agricultural structure, land reform, and so on. The text consists of 8 articles.

Law No. 8318 on Leasing Agricultural and Forest Land, Pastures and Meadows which are covered in the State Property Law 1995.

This Law provides for the leasing of public agricultural and forest land. It consists of 18 articles establishing the procedures for leasing of such lands to citizens and contains rules relative to the lease and the conditions attached to lease including obligations of the lessee. 'Land' here means the land that is property of the State, classified in the fond of agriculture and forest land, pastures and meadows (art. 2).

The declared (sect. 3) objects of the Act are: ensuring effective and ecologically sustainable management of forest resources; promotion of a sustainable commercial timber industry, and; protection and conservation of forest resources, habitats and ecosystems including the maintenance of ecological processes and genetic diversity. The administration of matters affecting forests is entrusted to Commissioner of Forests appointed under section 6 and the Minister who shall be advised by the Solomon Forestry Board established under section 5.
