A sterilization control of paper impregnated with spores of the heat-resistant organism, Bacillus stearothermophilus, and specific culture media in a dehydrated state is described. When suspended in distilled water, the media will elute from the test strip and support the growth of surviving bacteria. The necessity of preparing media for culturing the controls is eliminated.

The remit of this paper is to identify and examine “success” stories in combating desertification.

The purpose of this Act is to contribute to the sound development of the national economy and to the preservation of national land and the environment by promoting the development of forestry and the various functions of forests concerning public interests, through rational preservation and use of mountainous districts.

The propose of this Decree is to provide for matters delegated by the National Land Planning and Utilization Act and matters necessary to implement the afore-mentioned Act. In particular, article 2 deals with definition of different kinds of facilities. The FAO Forestry Department promotes, among others, the responsible use of wood as an environmentally friendly raw material. In the last decades, wood and wood-based products have been faced with stronger competition from substitute materials, such as plastics, concrete, steel, glass or aluminium, as these materials appear to offer wider options to the customers. Some of the factors that can influence customers' decisions on what kind of end products to acquire include marketing efforts, product prices, quality, durability and image.
