Ce guide en image est le fruit d’un processus participatif et inclusif de renforcement des capacités des Comités régionaux de transhumance qui ont réuni plus de 90 participants (pasteurs/éleveurs, administration territoriales, conseils régionaux, structures techniques déconcentrées et décentralisées des différents départements ministériels clefs, les organisations de la société civile, ainsi que les représentants de projets et les organisations non gouvernementales (ONG) au niveau des Willayas pastorales).

Ce guide en image est le fruit d’un travail de contextualisation du guide technique intitulé «Améliorer la gouvernance des terres pastoralies» mené par les deux partenaires Coordination nationale des organisations paysannes (CNOP) et le Centre sahélien de prestations, d’études, d’écodéveloppement et de démocratie appliquée (CSPEDDA) ainsi que leurs partenaires selon un processus participatif.

Land and labour rights can intersect in multiple ways. Investments in large-scale plantations often entail trade-offs between job creation and compressions of land rights. Also, labour relations can involve tenure dimensions, for example where estate managers sublet plots for workers to complement wages with food production for their family or local markets.

"Participatory law-making” is the process by which citizens actively contribute to policy advocacy and law-drafting. Citizen participation in law-making can improve the quality and legitimacy of policies and laws by ensuring that they reflect and protect the authentic interests of the national citizenry. In the field of land rights, participatory law-making can help ensure the recognition and protection of legitimate tenure rights.

Cette publication vise à fournir des conseils techniques sur l'intégration des forêts, de l'agroforesterie et des arbres dans la formulation et l'implémentation des Plans d'Adaptation Nationaux. Elle a le but d'informer les représentants et les agents gouvernementaux, les responsables de la planification des Plans d’Adaptation Nationaux, et tous les acteurs qui s’intéressent aux forêts, à la foresterie et à l'agroforesterie en ce qui concerne l'adaptation et leurs potentiel support à l'adaptation d'autres secteurs, sous-secteurs, et activités.

Given the complementarities that exist between the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) and the Framework and Guidelines on Land Policy in Africa (F&G), there is a need to achieve a coordinated approach to their application to ensure that the objectives they pursue are attained in a coherent, sustainable, efficient and mutually supportive manner.

Ce rapport porte sur les leçons apprises, les meilleures pratiques, les difficultés rencontrées et les questions émergentes concernant l'amélioration de la gouvernance foncière responsable en utilisant les Directives volontaires sur la gouvernance responsable des régimes fonciers des terres, des pêches et des forêts dans le contexte de la sécurité alimentaire nationale et le cadre de l'Union africaine et les Lignes directrices sur la politique foncière en Afrique (F&G), mises en relation avec le programme de gouvernance foncière de l'Union européenne.

: A growing body of literature analyses the conflict implications of REDD+ (Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries). However, the way these conflicts unfold is little understood. We address this research gap through the following question: What are the pathways that connect REDD+ projects and conflicts between local communities and other actors? We review 242 scientific articles, selecting eight that allow us to trace how the conflict pathways unfolded.

As part of the efforts to find sustainable solutions to complex land tenure issues, multi-stakeholder platforms (MSPs) create an inclusive forum where actors can discuss problems and propose solutions to improve governance of tenure and provide better access to natural resources. This publication highlights how MSPs at regional, national and local level demonstrate forward thinking, including innovative practices and approaches to respond to the above mentioned social challenges, for the benefit of all.

Dans le cadre de la recherche de réponses durables aux questions foncières complexes, les plateformes multi-acteurs offrent un lieu de débat ouvert qui permet aux acteurs d’aborder les problèmes et de proposer des solutions pour améliorer la gouvernance foncière et l’accès aux ressources naturelles.

The recognition of customary tenure systems and responsible land-based investments that safeguard legitimate tenure rights and right holders are the interconnected main themes for mainstreaming the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) in Cambodia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Myanmar and Viet Nam.

The VGGT Popular Version for Communal Land Administration was developed to support the Parliament of Namibia in delivering training to traditional authorities and regional institutions to enhance their capacity to administer communal land within their jurisdictions. This was carried out in line with the Communal Land Reform Act, Act 5 of 2002 and the resolutions of the 2nd National Land Conference. The Popular Version outlines 14 pertinent land governance issues in Namibia’s communal areas.
