The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Law No. 2260-IIs “On conservation, rehabilitation of soil and improvement of soil fertility”.
This Law regulates the following issues: (a) conservation, rehabilitation of soil and improvement of soil fertility, prevention of soil erosion due flooding, landslide, soil pollution, siltation, waterlogging, and anthropogenic impact; (b) rehabilitation, improvement of soil and rational land tenure of low productive land; and (c) establishment of maximum allowable limits of contents of hazardous substances in soil, provisions related to application of pesticides and agrochemicals.
Law No. 127 amending Law No. 778-XV on geodesy and cartography.
Article 1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Topographic exploration shall be intended special survey and mapping for projecting, construction, reconstruction, renovation, rebuilding and operation of sites”.

Decreto Nº 335/13 - Ley de fortalecimiento de la camaricultura.
La presente Ley de fortalecimiento de la camaricultura, tiene por finalidad establecer un conjunto de regulaciones orientadas a fortalecer la industria del camarón cultivado en sus distintas etapas, a fin de elevar su competitividad. Se crea la Guía de embarque obligatoria, extendida por el Servicio Nacional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (SENASA), para el transporte de producto cuyo destino sea el mercado interno.
