The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Regional Law establishes maximum land area limits for plots of agricultural land allotted on condition of ownership to citizens out of stock of public or municipal land as follows: (a) for peasant farming – 30 ha; (b) for horticulture, gardening, stockbreeding, suburban housing construction out of stock of low yield agricultural land – 1.500 square metres; and (c) for subsidiary smallholding – 5.000 square metres.
Regional Law No. 1775-OZ amending Regional Law No. 1005-OZ “On allotment of land plots free of charge to citizens”.
Article 1 shall be amended to add the following wording: “allotment of plots of land for individual housing construction, subsidiary smallholding, gardening and horticulture to families with disabled children”.

Regional Law No. 98-OZ amending Regional Law No. 8-OZ “On allotment of land parcels in ownership free of charge”.
Article 2 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Plots of agricultural land shall be allotted to specific categories of citizens for agricultural production, other purposes related to agricultural production, for suburban farming and for individual housing construction”.

Order No. 927 on the establishment and operation of local action under the Rural Development Programme for the period 2014-2020.
The Order applies to the administrative operation of local action groups – as institution partnership between local authorities, organizations, associations, businesses and citizens – with the purpose of aiming to a local development strategy of rural land development. The existing local action groups shall manage the development program for the period 2014-2020.
Regional Law No. 120-z "On land reclamation".
This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of land reclamation, establishes plenary powers of regional state bodies for regulatio of the aforesaid activity and also establishes rights and duties of natural and legal persons performing activities in the sphere of land reclamation. Land reclamation shall be classified as follows: (a) hydroamelioration; (b) agro-forestry amelioration; (с) land clearance operations; (d) chemical amelioration; and (e) technogenic amelioration (soil rehabilitation) of disturbed land.
