Desde hace más de dos meses se venían reportando invasiones de predios privados especialmente en el Cauca, comunidades indígenas estaban apoderándose de tierras que hoy son usadas en su mayoría para la agroindustria de la caña. Finalmente el Gobierno rompió el silencio sobre los hechos, y fue la propia ministra de Agricultura, Cecilia López quien detalló que rechazan esos actos y "quienes quieren promover invasiones entorpecen la gestión del Gobierno y esto podría redundar en que sean investigados por parte de las autoridades".

Este miércoles en la sede de la Comisión de la Verdad se llevó a cabo el seminario ‘Despojo de tierras’, que contó con la participación de los expertos en el tema de tierras Darío Fajardo y Alejandro Reyes y el comisionado Alfredo Molano. En el seminario, se discutió y se aportaron luces sobre la crisis agraria que vive el país, la problemática que significa el despojo de tierras y las expectativas para los próximos años en el campo colombiano.

In most of the communities in the country and even elsewhere around the globe, lands are mostly owned by men. Thus women have little access and rights to ownership of lands where they could cultivate.
However, the FAO the country representative, Moshibudi Rampedi said “we need to take specific measures to make it easier for women and girls to have equal tenure rights and have access to lands, fisheries and forest.”
The FAO representative was speaking recently during a Women Land Rights Policy Forum.
