La rcolte de produits forestiers, dont le bois d'uvre est l'un des principaux produits, dans les forts denses humides tropicales, est une activit importante cologiquement, socialement et conomiquement pour de nombreux pays de l'Afrique tropicale.

A review of the status of forest resources, protected areas and forest production in Cambodia. Timber and non-timber product markets are analysed, projections of land use are given and policy challenges are outlined.

This working paper summarises the importance of forestry to Kenya’s economy and describes the effects of other sectors on its development. The current and predicted future status of the different arms of forestry in the country are presented.

This information note covers a twenty year history of the collection and analysis of water-related data and its dissemina - tion as an international public good, freely available to all. The main country database on water resources and their use—itself a major challenge to present in uniform terms—provides the platform for organizing and presenting over 180 variables and indicators that can be searched and extracted for all countries and for dierent regions over an extensive time period.

Dans ce numéro, nous examinerons les projets en cours dans le cadre du lancement d’un nouveau partenariat mondial sur les sols, une initiative ambitieuse pour soutenir les efforts entrepris au niveau mondial sur les problèmes communs de gestion des sols. Nous examinerons également un projet régional centré sur l’assistance apportée à quatre pays andins – la Bolivie, la Colombie, le Pérou et l’Equateur – sur les questions d’adaptation au changement climatique et de gestion des risques de catastrophes dans le secteur agricole.
