Este programa foi elaborado em atendimento ao Acórdão do Tribunal de Contas da União (n° 1942/2015) que versa sobre Governança de Solos. A Embrapa e, em especial, a Embrapa Solos se articularam para montar um grupo de trabalho multi-institucional, que elaborou o programa a partir de workshops presenciais e a distância.

Muito oportuna e elucidativa essa publicação do FBSSAN que me foi dada a honra de apresentar. A biofortificação de alimentos tem se destacado entre os temas do crescente debate nacional e internacional no campo da nutrição, aí incluída sua relação com a agricultura. Como é usual em se tratando dos alimentos, este debate é permeado por interesses de várias ordens, sobretudo econômicos, com a apropriação de significados acompanhada do tradicional apelo à gravidade dos problemas (fome ou deficiência de nutrientes) que clama por soluções urgentes e milagrosas.

In early 2015, Maasai and Datoga citizens living in the Morogoro region of Tanzania were victims of deadly, ethnic violence. According to reports from local media, the assaults were instigated by public figures interested in acquiring land, and state authorities have not intervened to protect Maasai citizens. The Country Investment Plan (Plan) is a roadmap towards investment in agriculture, food security and nutrition in Bangladesh. It is a five-year comprehensive plan with national coverage that aims to ensure sustainable food security which entered into force in 2011. The Plan provides a coherent set of 12 priority investment programmes to improve food security and nutrition in an integrated way divided into three components: 1) food availability, 2) food access, and 3) food utilization.
