In Timor-Leste, customary institutions contribute to sustainable and equitable rural development and the establishment of improved access to and management of land, water and other natural resources. Drawing on multi-sited empirical research, we argue that the recognition and valorization of custom and common property management is a prerequisite for sustainable and equitable land tenure reform in Timor-Leste.

The Constitution of Kenya 2010 apportions responsibility of planning to both National and County governments. The County Government Act, 2012 obligates county governments to prepare and implement County Integrated Development Plans (CIDP). The CIDPs are, according to the act, five year plans that will form the basis of annual budgetary allocation by the county governments.

2016 saw a record 200 killings of people defending their land, forests and rivers against destructive industries.

It has never been deadlier to take a stand against companies that steal land and destroy the environment. Our new report Defenders of the Earth found that nearly four people were murdered every week in 2016 protecting their land and the natural world from industries like mining, logging and agribusiness.

La rencontre mondiale du Forum Mondial sur l’Accès à la Terre et aux ressources naturelles, FMAT 2016, s’est déroulée durant trois journées de travaux et débats en séances plénières et ateliers du 31 mars au 2 avril 2016, sur le campus de l’Université Polytechnique de Valence en Espagne.

This study uses five rounds of household panel data from Tigray, Ethiopia, collected in the period 1998–2010 to assess the impacts of a land registration and certification program that aimed to strengthen tenure security and how it has contributed to increased food availability and, thus, food security in this food-deficit region.

While many people in the developing world lack secure property rights and access to adequate resources, women have less access to land than men do in all regions and in many countries (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations [FAO], 2011b). Women across the developing world are consistently less likely to own land, have fewer rights to land, and the land they do own or have access to is of lower quality in comparison to men
(FAO, 2011b).

In the present report, submitted to the Human Rights Council in accordance with Council resolution 13/4, the Special Rapporteur on the right to food discusses the threats to women's right to food, identifying the areas that demand the most urgent attention. The report examines successively the obstacles women face in access to employment, social protection and the productive resources needed for food production, food processing and value chain development.

Urban green areas are important sites established for recreational, ecological, and aesthetical purposes. Urban green areas are different form the other green space usage, can be used by the all parts of the community. Public green space standards, construction law No. 3194 of the plan to be built on the basis of 10 m² per person in the regulations "active green space" is defined as. About the amount of green space in the regulation applies to active green space. Active green space are defined parks, children's playground and play areas.

By the late 19th century, indigenous populations in Argentina's regions of Pampa, Patagonia and Chaco were subordinately incorporated into capitalist economy, through a series of genocidal and destribalization policies that have been thoroughly examined in previous studies. However, the circumstances of their integration and the strategies that indigenous actors displayed have not been systematically analyzed yet.

The paper solves evaluation of current state of accessing the forest with forest road network in the forest management unit Čierny Váh, evaluatation the state of forest roads, point out shortcomings in accessing the forest and eventually propose optimal solutions to improve the situation in the area of interest. Thesis describes natural conditions of the area of interest.

This paper traces a genealogy of land access and legitimization strategies culminating in the current convergence of mining and conservation in Southeast Madagascar, contributing to recent debates analyzing the commonalities and interdependencies between seemingly discrete types of land acquisitions.
