The Ninth Development Plan is a national plan with a sectoral approach covering the period 2007–2013. The main objectives of the Plan are: a) increasing competitiveness, b) increasing employment, c) strengthening human development and social solidarity, d) ensuring regional development, e) increasing quality and effectiveness in public services. The Plan also aims at protecting the environment and improving urban infrastructure, making agricultural structures more efficient and promoting the development of rural areas.Food security is among the specific objectives of the Plan.

The Government of Uganda's first National Gender Policy (NGP) was approved in 1997. The policy provided a legitimate point of reference for addressing gender inequalities at all levels of government and by all stakeholders.

This Law stipulates that notwithstanding any native law or custom to the contrary a female person has the right to acquire and own property and shall share in the intestate estate of her deceased father, mother or husband in accordance with the provisions of this Law. Females may be the administrator or one of the administrators of her fathers, mothers or husbands estate. The National Livestock Policy is a sectoral national policy of the Republic of Somaliland. It applies to the period 2006–2016. Its main objective is to provide guidelines, coordination and regulation of the livestock sector in order to increase its efficiency in terms of production and productivity to improve the livelihoods of livestock producers and of the Somaliland economy, through focused use of resources.For attaining this main goal, the Government of Somaliland will improve and maintain the indigenous stock, maximise their production capacity in meat, milk, hides and skins.

The Albanian National Land Consolidation Strategy is a national strategy with a cross-sectoral approach. The timeframe is a 15 year period from 2014 to 2028, divided into three major phases. The Strategy promotes the creation of economically viable, competitive and sustainable family farms. The overall aim is to contribute to sustainable development and to enhance the agricultural sector in an inclusive and gender and socially equitable manner, so as to ensure food security, alleviation of poverty and the rational use of natural resources.
