Mongólia

A Mongólia é um grande país sem litoral, com uma área de 157 milhões de hectares, que faz fronteira com a Rússia ao norte e com a China em todas as outras partes. Está situado em grandes planaltos com altitude média de 1.580m acima do nível do mar, e mais de 80% do país está acima de 1.000m. Enquanto grande parte da paisagem na parte sul do país é caracterizada por desertos rochosos, notadamente o deserto de Gobi, e estepes gramíneas semi-áridas com pouca floresta, há também cadeias de montanhas significativas no oeste, centro e norte do país. As zonas ecológicas incluem zonas de montanha alpina, taiga, estepe florestal, estepe do deserto e deserto. Com pouco mais de 3,2 milhões de pessoas em 2019, a Mongólia é o país menos densamente povoado do mundo.
