The present Act lays down provisions relating to land consolidations. Article 1 establishes that to improve production and working conditions in agriculture and forestry, as well as to improve general land use planning and land development, owned land may be consolidated.

This Act regulates the administration and management of land ownership.The Act provides for: the alienation of State Land; issuance of title and registration; conditions on which land shall be held and reservations to the Government; declaration of Township; penalties for offences relating to unlawful occupation of State Land; etc.

This Act provides for soil contamination countermeasures for protecting health through assessing contamination and preventing the damage to human health.The Act requires that owners, managers and occupiers of sites on which certain facilities producing, using or processing specified hazardous substances exist are responsible for examining soil for contamination of the sites when the operation of the facilities finishes and for reporting results of the investigation to the prefectural governors.

This Act provides for the allocation of Maldivian land for different purposes and uses, for the issuing of land and state dwellings for residential purposes and for the sale, transfer and lease of Maldivian land.The Ministry of Home Affairs, Housing and Environment will be responsible for maintaining land records of the Maldives.

The purpose of the present Law is to safeguard the public interest on the occasion of the transfer of land or parts thereof, taking into account the need to comply with the principles of a sustainable protection of the environment, nature and landscape.

The underlying principle of the present Law is that local interests prevail over regional interests. The purpose of the Law is the economic and expedient use of the soil; the protection and care of the environment and, in particular the conservation and reinstatement of the sustainable purity of the air, water and soil, as well as the avoidance of noise; the conservation or reinstatement of a healthy nature, the protection of the indigenous fauna and flora and their natural living spaces, of the cultural heritage and, finally, in particular that of housing and recreational areas.

The present Law lays down provisions relating to conditions of farmland in Vorarlberg. With a view to the creation and maintenance of an efficient and sustainable agriculture and forestry, conditions of farmlands shall by improved or newly created by applying modern economic principles, as well as land consolidations.

The purpose of the present Law is to conserve and protect the soil against harmful effects, in particular against erosion, densification of the soil and hazardous substances, and to improve and restore the health of the soil. To reach this aim everyone shall behave in such a way as to reduce damage to the soil to the unavoidable minimum – in particular accumulation of hazardous substances in the soil and deterioration of the soil structure – in view of ensuring an effective soil protection.

This Act aims at the conservation of hill lands, the prevention of soil erosion, and the control of siltation.The Ruler in Council or the Yang di-Pertuan in Council of a State may declare any area to be hill land for the purposes of this Act. Such an area shall be registered and various activities within hill land, including the cultivation of short term crops, are prohibited or restricted.

In the process of harmonizing the Cypriot legislation with the environmental legislative framework of the European Union, this law sets forth the basic provisions for the protection of water resources and soil against polution. The law aims at protecting surface and underground waters and soil from human and industrial polluting activities and at controlling the disposal of liquid and solid industrial waste.
