This report presents the outcomes of the training workshop organized around the MASSMUS application presented is the first application in Shanxi Province in China in 2010.

The International Programme for Technology and Research in Irrigation and Drainage (IPTRID) is an international independent multi-donor trust fund programme created in 1990 and first located at the World Bank. Since 1998, it has been hosted by FAO as a Special Programme. IPTRID aims to assist developing countries and countries in transition in building capacity for sustainable agricultural water management to reduce poverty and enhance food security, while conserving the environment.

أولت السلطات العمومية أهمية بالغة لتوسيع رقعة المساحات المجهزة بتقنيات الري الموضعي عبر سياسة إرادية ترجمها مخطط المغرب الأخضر في البرنامج الوطني للاقتصاد في ماء الري الذي يرمي إلى تحويل ما يناهز 550 ألف هكتار من الأراضي المسقية إلى الري الموضعي في أفق .2020 ويأتي هذا الدليل الموجه أساسا إلى الفلاح للرفع من مستواه التقني في مجال استعمال المياه في الري عبر توجيهه نحو أحسن التقنيات وكذا تنبيهه حتى يتفادى بعض الأخطاء الشائعة في تصميم واستخدام وتدبير وصيانة نظام الري الموضعي.

Fishing and foraging for aquatic animals are often an integral part of rural food strategies and are as much about the management of water and aquatic environments as they are about the management of land. This publication is the result of a participatory assessment conducted in Attapeu Province, Lao PDR to determine the role of aquatic resources in the nutritional status of people engaged in rural livelihoods.

Dans ce numéro, nous examinerons une nouvelle publication intitulée « Paiements pour services environnementaux et sécurité alimentaire ». Ce document a été produit dans le cadre du processus de préparation de la Conférence Rio+20, prévue en 2012. Nous nous projetterons également dans la semaine mondiale de lâ¿¿eau qui se tiendra à Stockholm, Suède, du 21 au 27 Août, au cours de laquelle la FAO participera à un séminaire destiné à anticiper le thème de la journée mondiale de lâ¿¿eau en 2012 â¿¿ Eau et sécurité alimentaire.

Ce projet vise à améliorer la sécurité alimentaire et á réduire la pauvreté rurale des petits agriculteurs en fournissant des conseils et un soutien technique pour améliorer la qualité, l'impact et la durabilité des investissements dans le cadre de la gestion de l’eau à usage agricole (GEA). L’eau est essentielle au développement économique et comme moyen d’existence et joue un rôle central dans la réduction de la pauvreté rurale.
