The IPTRID programme is a multi-donor trust fund managed by the IPTRID Secretariat as a Special Programme of FAO. The Secretariat is located in the Land and Water Development Division of FAO and draws on a worldwide network of leading centres of excellence in the field of irrigation, drainage and water resources management. IPTRID aims to support capacity development for sustainable agricultural water management to reduce poverty, enhance food security and improve livelihoods, while conserving the environment.

This report presents the results of the expert consultation and the testing of the MASSMUS module of MASSCOTE methodology in Bac Hung Hai irrigation scheme in Viet Nam. The MASSMUS module was applied in two administrative districts in the BHH: Luong Tai district, and Kim Dong district.

This Project Brief provides key findings, lessons and policy implications drawn from the research programme entitled ‘Socio-Economic Analysis and Policy Implications of the Roles of Agriculture in Developing Countries’ (ROA Project) implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations from 2000 to 2006.

This paper presents the results of a follow-up project in Algeria and Tunisia on the development of gender-sensitive indicators related to the role of women in agricultural water management. The paper summarizes the results of the “Phase 1” project, then presents the results of two studies conducted in Algeria and Tunisia on institutional level actors dealing with agricultural water management and national-level sex-disaggregated data.

A report of the proceedings of the October 2001 regional consultation on the above theme, the document explains the urgent need for arresting and reversing the decline in investment in land and water development in Asia-Pacific countries. Land and water investment priorities include coping with worsening land degradation, increasing productivity of the region’s large rainfed areas and modernising wasteful water delivery and irrigation systems.

Desde 1996, la FAO y el Gobierno de Italia han colaborado en un ambicioso proyecto que se realiza a lo largo de la cuenca del r?o m?s largo del mundo. ?Productos informativos sobre los recursos h?dricos de la cuenca del Nilo? fue el nombre con el que se design? la suma global de tres proyectos consecutivos llevados a cabo en diez pa?ses de la cuenca del Nilo. Tras su conclusión oficial, en octubre de 2011, el proyecto fue entregado a la Iniciativa de la Cuenca del Nilo, una organización intergubernamental creada en 1999 que tiene su sede en Entebbe (Uganda).
