The Regional Operational Workshop in Latin America and the Caribbean focused on advancing land administration through improved interoperability and data governance. The event was structured around three thematic sessions that highlighted regional innovations and best practices. The first session addressed the enhancement of information systems, data governance, and policy strategies for more effective land management. Presentations included Argentina’s efforts in utilizing geospatial information for sustainable territorial management, emphasizing the integration of advanced data systems. Paraguay's experience showcased advancements in cadastre data governance, detailing how efficient data management can strengthen land administration. The second session, centered on methodologies for land valuation, taxation, and titling, was complemented by Guatemala’s presentation of the Property Rights Observatory, which demonstrated the value of open data and community involvement in property and cadastral management. The final session highlighted efforts to improve community land governance, with a particular focus on indigenous participation in land-related decisions. The workshop underlined the importance of data-driven strategies and participatory governance as key elements in fostering sustainable land administration across the region.
