This wide-ranging forestry outlook study for Mongolia discusses a broad selection of topics relevant to the future development of forestry in Mongolia. Prospects for industrial development, forest rehabilitation, community-based forest resource management, climate change, policy and institutional developments, desertification, forest fires, grazing encroachment, and establishment of a Green Wall are among the myriad of drivers of forestry change in Mongolia. The need for continuous improvement in forest management is a key theme throughout the paper.

The State of the World’s Forest Genetic Resources addresses the conservation, management and sustainable use of forest tree and other woody plant genetic resources of actual and potential value for human well-being in the broad range of management systems. This report complements two other FAO flagship publications in the field of forestry, the annual State of the World’s Forests and the periodic Global Forest Resources Assessment (FRA).

The National Medium-Term Priority Framework (NMTPF) 2011-2015 builds on the experience acquired with NMTPF 20006-2010, which dealt with FAO assistance in a comprehensive way. Its overall goal is to pursue the development of sustainable agriculture, fisheries and forestry as a contribution to the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger, improving the living standards of all Cambodians, especially the poorest, most food insecure, most vulnerable, in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable manner.

Las presentes directrices han sido elaboradas para asistir a los políticos, planificadores, técnicos y otros agentes implicados, en la decisión de adoptar una política de TGR, y en el caso de que se adopte, en la formulación de un programa efectivo. Un programa de estas características es el que tiene como resultado un proceso de transferencia de las funciones de la agencia de riego a las Asociaciones de Usuarios apropiado, satisfactorio y sostenible, que fomente un desarrollo equitativo en las áreas rurales.
