UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide.

The LUMS Social Enterprise Development Centre (SEDC) is working towards capacity building of social enterprises since 2001. Its priority areas include governance, education, health, gender, and micro-finance/poverty reduction.

SEDC harnesses LUMS resources and acts as a facilitator, by providing knowledge based learning to social sector organisations, based on its RTCD strategy i.e.

Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan (CW4WAfghan) is a charity and not-for-profit organization founded in 1998 to advance education and educational opportunities for Afghan women and their families and to educate Canadians about human rights in Afghanistan. Our four main field program areas include: (1) Investments in Basic Education; (2) Community Libraries, Literacy and Books Program; (3) Technology for Education; and, (4) Public Engagement. After the United Nation Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, where a group of women from various organizations and agencies of the United Nation participated; the theory to form a network for the Afghan women's cooperation and integration developed. With inspire from women's movement in different part of the world; finally, in 1995 participants (women) of the conference decided to establish Afghan Women Network (AWN).

Afghanistan Women Council (AWC) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit, non-sectarian Charity Organization founded in 1986 by the efforts of Ms. Fatana Ishaq Gailani and a group of Afghan women with an aim to assist Afghan women and children. The predominant objective of the organization is to enlighten women, improve their living conditions and strengthen their socio-economic status in society by their multi-lateral involvement in development activities. AWC is registered with the Government of Pakistan and Afghanistan as a charity NGO.

The Asian Indigenous Women’s Network wants to support, sustain and help consolidate the various efforts of indigenous women in Asia to critically understand the roots of their marginalized situation and to empower themselves by becoming aware of their rights as women and as indigenous peoples, and by developing their own organizations or structures for empowerment.

Rural Women Development Centre (Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra) is a well-established NGO with the primary focus on education rights and socio-economic empowerment of marginalized and disadvantaged girls and women. It also aims to minimize various forms of injustice and prejudices by striving for an equal and a just society.

Forum for Women, Law and Development (FWLD) is an autonomous, non-profit, non-governmental organization established on May 29, 1995 for the protection, promotion and enjoyment of women’s rights, children’s rights, minorities’ rights and the rights of marginalized groups.

VISION

Forum for Women, Law and Development envisions a world where human rights are fully realized where social injustice and discrimination are eradicated, and where equality prevails.

HEKS champions the cause of a more humane and just world and a life in dignity. Internationally, HEKS/EPER focuses on rural community development, humanitarian aid and inter-church cooperation. 

The National Association of Women’s Organizations in Uganda (NAWOU), registered as A Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) in 1993, is an umbrella organisation of women founded and women led organisations. Its membership category are District networks, which are clusters of women’s Community Based Organisations (CBOs), Faith Based Organisations (FBOs) and NGOs, national NGOs, nationally registered FBOs and women’s professional bodies.

Collectif des Femmes du Mali is one of the oldest non-governmental organization in Mali. Since its creation in 1991, this organization set a goal to fight for the empowerment of women of the country.   

At the beginning, the women who created this group had for goals to raise awareness among women about the necessity to empower and organize themselves; and make women understand that they can influence, and change their life condition.
