Aboriginal Communities Act 1979.

This Act, consisting of 13 sections, aims at assisting certain Aboriginal communities to manage and control their community lands and for related purposes in Western Australia. The Act applies to the Aboriginal communities incorporated as the Bidyadanga Aboriginal Community La Grange Incorporated and the Bardi Aborigines Association Inc. and any incorporated Aboriginal community that the Governor, on the advice of the Minister, declares by proclamation to be a community to which this Act applies.

La presente Ley establece los mecanismos y políticas sectoriales para la prevención, protección y fortalecimiento de las naciones y los pueblos indígenas originarios que se encuentran en situación de alta vulnerabilidad. Los mecanismos de protección contemplan el impedir cualquier tipo de perturbación en los territorios ocupados por dichas naciones y pueblos, como así también la promoción de iniciativas comunitarias para el aprovechamiento sustentable de los recursos naturales, facilitando la rehabilitación de la seguridad alimentaria y el acceso a los servicios básicos.

State Lands (Amendment) Decree 2013 (No. 7 of 2013).

This Decree amends the State Lands Act, originally titled “Crown Lands Act”, in section 6 by adding a subsection (6), which provides that any i Taukei land which is exchanged for portions of State land under subsection (3) must not be exchanged for portions of private freehold land under subsection. It also adds a new section (28a), which allows a person who is not a registered surveyor to be appointed as the Director of Lands.

iTaukei Land Trust (Amendment) Decree 2012 (No. 20 of 2012).

This Decree amends the iTaukei Laud Trust Act (formerly the Native Land Trusts Act) in subsection (2) of section 19A by deleting the words "Great Council of Chiefs" and substituting "iTaukei Affairs Board". Section 19a was inserted by the Native Land Trust (Amendment) Act 2002 the principal Act and concerns allotment of extinct mataqali lands.

This Act makes provision for agreements between the Government and Indian bands (as defined by the Indian Act) for the purposes of resolving and extinguishing claims asserted by an Indian band and the council of a band against the Government or against the Government and Canada in respect of cut-off lands. "Cut-off lands" means lands that had before 1916 been appropriated by the Government for the use and benefit of Indians (defined in section 1).

Subject to this Part and to any provision to the contrary in a law of the Territory, a person shall not enter onto or remain on Aboriginal land or use a road unless he has been issued with a permit to do so in accordance with this Part (sect. 4). An Aboriginal who is entitled by Aboriginal tradition to enter onto an area of Aboriginal land may enter onto that area of Aboriginal land. An Aboriginal who is entitled by Aboriginal tradition to remain on an area of Aboriginal land may remain on that area of Aboriginal land.

Crofting (Amendment) (Scotland) Act 2013 (2013 asp 10).

This Act amends principally the Crofters (Scotland) Act 1993 and consequentially the Crofting Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 in respect of applications to decroft by owner-occupier crofters and the subsequent handling of such application by the Crofters Commission. The Act also provides with respect to appeals against decisions of the Commission. An owner-occupier crofter may apply to the Commission for a decrofting direction, i.e. a direction that the owner-occupier’s croft is to cease to be a croft.

This Act provides for local government of Amerindians, i.e. an Indian who is a member of a tribe indigenous to Guyana. For this purpose Amerindian Districts, Amerindian Areas and Amerindian Villages are established.The Act also provides for the protection of property of Amerindians and establishes the Amerindian Purposes Fund. The Minister may establish District Councils or Area Councils as a body corporate. The Councils shall, among other things, manage and regulate the use and occupation of land situated in a District, Area or Village.
