This Act regulates ownership of farmlands. Section 2 provides that any of the following may, directly or indirectly, take, acquire, receive or hold an interest in farmland being; (b) a family farm corporation; (c) a municipality; (d) a local government district; and (e) an agency of government. Section 6 provides for the continuation of the Manitoba Farm Lands Ownership board. Section 8 deals with the powers of the Board.

This Act sets up a Ministry of Lands, Parks and Housing. For the purposes of this Act the minister may enter into agreements with; the government of Canada or its agent, or the government of a province or its agent, or with any other person or a municipality. Section 6 set out the powers of the minister. Section 7 deals with appropriation, and section 8 with securing advances. Section 8(1) sets out in detail the provisions dealing with affordable housing assistance and security for it.

This Act provides rules for the partial compensation for damages unlawfully caused in the ownership of private persons by laws listed in Annexes 1 and 2. This Act introduces compensation bonds for the amount of compensation. Compensation bonds shall be used through the privatisation process for the acquisition of assets, shares and arable land. This Act contains special rules concerning the determination of the value of compensation for arable land and the acquisition of arable land with compensation bonds.

This Act is divided in three Parts. Part One deals with Introductory Provisions and, in particular, with the electronic processing of records and data, and sets out the principles of real estate registration. Part Two regards the system of real estate registration and it has three Chapters determining the contents of real estate registers and the method of registration. Part Three consists of five Chapters which regard registration proceedings, legal remedy, use of data from real estate registers, rules on special procedures, and closing provisions.

The purpose of this Act is to ensure the acquisition of immovable properties absolutely necessary for the realization of objectives of public interest determined by the law and, in the same time, to safeguard the balance between public interest and the interests of protection of property rights of owner. Expropriation can be made, exceptionally, by the State or local governments, or a third person if he performs activities determined by Art. 2, and only against immediate, complete and absolute compensation. Administrative and legal proceedings are foreseen in detail by Articles 24-40.

This Act amends the Land Acquisition Act in sections 14 and 18 in relation to the power of an authorised officer to make interim payment of compensation to an interested person pending an award of the Board of Assessment and deduction of the amount of interim payment from the award by the Board.

The purpose of the present Act is to provide for the preservation, interpretation and development of certain aspects of heritage property in Saskatchewan. Section 5 decrees that the Minister may establish a board to be known as the Saskatchewan Heritage Advisory Board which shall advise and make recommendations to the Minister on any matter relating to the conservation, protection and preservation of heritage property in the Province. Section 6 rules that the Saskatchewan Heritage Property Review Board is established.

Private Managed Forest Land Act ([SBC 2003] Chapter 80).

The present Act applies to private managed forest land other than land that is in a tree farm licence area, a woodlot licence area or a community forest agreement area. Section 4 decrees that the Private Managed Forest Land Council is established as a corporation consisting of the members appointed under section 6. The object of the council is to encourage forest management practices on private managed forest land, taking into account the social, environmental and economic benefits of those practices.

An Act Against Criminal Conveyance of Land (Cap. 95).

This Act amends the Penal Law so as to introduce measures against unauthorized possession or occupation of land and criminal conveyance of land. “Criminal conveyance” means the conveyance through sale, donation or lease of land by a person who has no title to do so. The Act defines offenses relating to criminal conveyance of land and prescribes penalties for such offences. The Act also defines affirmative defense.
