L'action des femmes indigènes pour récupérer les terres, malgré les menaces qu'elles reçoivent pour cela, en réponse à l'inaction du gouvernement, est particulièrement remarquable. Les femmes récupératrices de terres de Térraba, Salitre, Cabagra et China Kichá se sont réunies pour élaborer, avec le soutien du Fonds des Nations unies pour la population, l'Agenda des femmes autochtones pour la défense des territoires du Sud.
