This Act vests all land comprised in the territory of each State in the Federation in the Governor of that State and requires that such land shall be held in trust and administered for the use and common benefit of all Nigerians in accordance with the provisions of this Act. In each State a Land Use and Allocation Committee shall be established. Such committee shall be responsible for advising the Governor on land management and resettlement issues. The Governor may declare urban areas and land controlled by the military shall be administered separately.

This Decree approves the Regulation of the Land and Agrarian Reform Institution of the State of Pernambuco (ITERPE). This Regulation (in Annex I), consisting of 8 Chapters and 1 Annex, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Institution ITERPE, created by Law No.

This Regulation provides for the grant of land as Torres Strait Islander land, it consists of 60 sections and is divided into nine Parts. It contains the procedure for the granting of transferable land as Torres Strait Islanders land and regulates claims for claimable land and the grant of claimable land as Torres Strait Islanders land, incorporated as a land trust.

These Regulations amend the Native Land Trust (Leases and Licences) Regulations in regulation 11 by repealing paragraph (1) and substituting that paragraph of these Regulations. They also repeal paragraph 3 of regulation 11. Paragraph (1) concerns the distribution of moneys received by the Native Lands Board by way of rents and premiums in respect of native land.

The Act also defines relevant facts where the existence of any right or custom is in question and in general concerns evidence of existence of custom or a traditional right.

This Act provides with respect to the jurisdiction, powers and functions of magistrates' courts and for other related matters. Magistrates courts are primary courts, district courts or courts of a resident magistrate. The Act defines jurisdiction proceedings relating to land and in case of customary law. A primary court, in proceedings of a civil nature, may order the recovery of possession of land.
