Established in 1998, the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies promotes an interdisciplinary approach to area studies in order to better understand the world’s diverse regions. The school aims to train specialists in Asian and African area studies, who have a global perspective, but also retain a detailed understanding of localities.

Asian Studies Review is a multidisciplinary journal of contemporary and modern Asia. The journal sets out to showcase high-quality scholarship on the modern histories, cultures, societies, languages, politics and religions of Asia through the publication of research articles, book reviews and review articles.

Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan (CW4WAfghan) is a charity and not-for-profit organization founded in 1998 to advance education and educational opportunities for Afghan women and their families and to educate Canadians about human rights in Afghanistan. Our four main field program areas include: (1) Investments in Basic Education; (2) Community Libraries, Literacy and Books Program; (3) Technology for Education; and, (4) Public Engagement. UzInvestigations is a civic initiative administered by Ulster University in partnership with the Uzbek Forum for Human Rights. Drawing on data science, investigative methodologies, and digital analytics, UzInvestigations produces resources and analysis, which help forensically scrutinise corporate and government power in Uzbekistan.  Our aim is to promote transparency, good governance, human rights, and civic engagement.

HEKS champions the cause of a more humane and just world and a life in dignity. Internationally, HEKS/EPER focuses on rural community development, humanitarian aid and inter-church cooperation.
