WASHINGTON, 22 juillet 2013—L’Afrique possède près de la moitié de toutes les terres utilisables non cultivées de la planète. Ce sont environ 202 millions d’hectares qui pourraient être ainsi exploités. Elle affiche pourtant le niveau de pauvreté le plus élevé du monde. Ses piètres performances sur le front du développement suggèrent qu’elle n’a pas tiré parti de ses abondantes terres agricoles et ressources naturelles pour enclencher une croissance partagée et soutenue.

This Act makes provision for the conservation, use, management and control of land situated in mountain catchment areas. "Mountain catchment area" means any area declared by the Minister or competent authorities of provinces under section 2 to be a mountain catchment area.

These Regulations designate a coastal area as a Special Protection Area in accordance with Article 4 of Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Conservation of Wild Birds. The purpose is to ensure protection from disturbance, capture and damage to nests and eggs under Article 5 of the Directive for all species of birds, not just the birds listed on Schedule 3 (with the exception of those birds covered under Articles 7 for hunting and 9, where derogations are listed).

This Order establishes the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority as a body corporate and provides with respect to its functions, powers, administration and operation. This Act makes provision with respect to conservation of the forest, soil, water and other natural resources of Grenada. The Minister shall establish and maintain a Forestry Department within his or her Ministry, appoint forestry officers and generally promote the interests of forestry. The Forestry Department shall, for the purpose of implementing forest policy, plant, manage and use land vested in it or put at its disposal by the Minister.

Regional Act No. 3 on mountain areas.

This Regional Act sets out the legislative framework for promoting the economic and social development of mountain areas. To this end it promotes the creation of “mountain unions” which are composed of municipalities falling within mountain territories. These entities shall exercise the functions listed in article 3, which cover the following areas: land reclamation in mountain territories; management of waters resources; forest management; renewable sources of energy. The Regional Fund for Mountain Areas is set up for the attainment of the objectives pursued by this law.

This Law establishes the second amendment of Law No. 54/2005 regulating the title ownership of water resources. Amendments deal with the updating of its provisions concerning the requirements and dead lines necessary for obtaining the title recognition of internal land, borders of river or coastal areas related to marine or any other navigable water courses, with their respective beds, and even the banks belonging to public entities.
