Resource Equity

Resource Equity is a women-run and women-centered nonprofit organization that focuses exclusively on legal issues specific to gender equity in land and natural resources around the world.

LandMark (LMM)

LandMark is a dynamic, online mapping platform that provides critical information on the collective land and natural resource rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities around the world. The global platform supports local livelihoods and well-being by increasing the visibility of indigenous and community lands and presenting crucial information on the state of land rights.

Now, as the official process around the Sustainable Development Goals is beginning, it is critical that the land sector works together effectively. Therefore, Habitat for Humanity (Solid Ground Campaign), LandMark, Resource Equity, the Rights and Resources Initiative and the Land Portal Foundation want to bring land stakeholders together to discuss the incredible momentum around land and data. We want to determine an action plan to ensure that the data and monitoring initiatives will result in concrete actions to secure land rights!

On March 17-18th 2018, ahead of the annual World Bank Land and Poverty Conference, we hope to bring together an active partnership to increase access to information and bring the information ecosystem on land forward.   We are eager to gather managers, professional users of information, communications officers as well as website managers from local and global level to encourage a vivid and exciting exchange of ideas.

Global

After years of efforts, land rights are finally getting global attention. With several land-related indicators included in the Sustainable Development Goals, the land sector now has the unique opportunity to create an unprecedented momentum around land tenure issues and bring it to a higher level on the development agenda. Our goal is, of course, to contribute to the success of the SDGs, but also to be part of sustainable development in its real and practical sense!
