The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

El presente Decreto dispone que todas las instituciones del Sector Ambiente, Energía, Mares y Ordenamiento Territorial y del Sector Desarrollo Agropecuario y Rural, tal y como se definen en el Decreto Ejecutivo N° 38536-MP-PLAN del Reglamento Orgánico del Poder Ejecutivo, integrarán acciones en sus programas, proyectos y en sus planes de desarrollo institucional, con el fin de lograr una "Articulación Intersectorial para la incorporación de los Principios de Neutralidad de la Degradación de Tierras en la Lucha contra la Desertificación, la Degradación de la Tierra y la Sequía".

This Ministerial Order, consisting of 4 articles and eleven Annexes (I-A to I-M), establishes the formal Recognition of Traditional Sucos and Indigenous Villages existing in the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste recognizes the existence of 451 Sucos and 2,233 Villages, whose designation and location in the national territory is included in Annex I-A to Annex I-M to this Ministerial Order. Annexes specify Administrative Areas; Sucos and related Villages.

This Decree aims at compliance with sanitary and phytosanitary regulations, protection of plant species, efficient use of green areas and prevention of soil degradation. It sets forth principles and procedures of restoration, expansion, creation and improvement of green areas. The Decree shall not apply to green areas in forest lands, private lands, protected areas and in agricultural land.
