This Regulation, consisting of six Parts, implements the Survey and Mapping Infrastructure Act 2003 by defining the principles to be applied in carrying out surveys (Part 2), setting the geodetic reference framework (Part 3), providing for survey standard and survey guideline matters (Part 4), and establishing watercourse identification and non-tidal boundary (watercourse) location (Part 5).

This Regulation provides for the implementation of the Acquisition of Land Act 1967 by prescribing the fees applicable under section 9 of the Act. The fee payable for an application under section 9 of the Act is: (a) if the application relates to only 1 parcel of land: $167.90; or (b) if the application relates to more than 1 parcel of land: $167.90 plus $49.80 for each additional parcel of land.
