Kwa zaidi ya miaka mitano, Mradi wa Usalama wa Umiliki wa Ardhi kwa Wanawake (WOLTS) umekuwa ukichunguza uhusiano wa kijinsia na ardhi katika jamii za wafugaji zilizoathiriwa na uchimbaji wa madini Mongolia na Tanzania. Lengo limekuwa ni kutengeneza mbinu ya ushiriki wa jamii kwa muda mrefu na kujenga uwezo wa kulinda na kusaidia haki za ardhi za watu wote walio katika mazingira magumu  na hivyo kuelekeza nguvu katika usawa wa kijinsia, usimamizi na umiliki wa ardhi kwa mfumo ambao utarahisisha maboresho katika haki za ardhi kwa jamii yote.

Mradi umeonyesha kuwa kuwekeza katika kundi la wasaidizi wa jinsia na ardhi, wanawake na wanaume, inaweza kuleta mabadiliko makubwa kwa wanawake na jamii kwa ujumla.. Wasaidizi hao waliopata mafunzo kupitia mradi wa WOLTS wanaimarisha mifumo ya utawala kwenye ngazi ya jamii ili kuimarisha na kulinda haki za wanawake na makundi mengine yaliyo katika mazingira magumu na kuboresha haki za ardhi kwa wanawake na jamii. Hadi sasa, ushahidi unaonyesha kuwa mbinu ya WOLTS (kuwekeza katika wasiadizi wa jinsia na ardhi) inaweza kusaidia kuiwezesha jamii kupambana na kanuni za mifumo dume na kuleta mabadilko katika unyakuzi wa ardhi kwa nchi zinazoendelea. Katika jamii za majaribio, mbinu ya WOLTS ilifichua fursa za uongozi kwa wanawake, mabadiliko ya kanuni za kijamii ndani ya kaya, na kuongeza ufahamu wa unyanyasaji wa kijinsia.

Katika mkutano huo kwa njia ya wavuti, kiongozi wa timu ya WOLTS, Elizabeth Daley, alitoa muhtasari wa mradi huo, matokeo yake na uwezekano wa kutumiwa katika maeneo mengine. Michael Taylor, Mkurugenzi wa International Land Coalition, alizungumzia mtazamo wa ulimwengu juu ya uwezekano wa mradi kuchangia utawala bora wa ardhi kwa mabilioni ya watu wanaotegemea haki za ardhi zajamii. Washiriki waandamizi wa timu ya WOLTS, Joyce Ndakaru (HakiMadini, Tanzania) na Narangerel Yansanjav (People Centered Conservation, Mongolia) walitoa mifano kutoka nchi zao juu ya matokeo chanya ya kufundisha wasaidizi wa jamii juu ya masula ya jinsia na ardhi, na matumizi mapana ya matokeo ya mradi huo hadi sasa.
