This Act establishes the Lands Commission, in accordance with article 258 of the Constitution as a body corporate, defines the functions of and assigns powers to the Commission and makes provision with respect to its composition and administration and the qualification and appointment of members of the Commission. The headquarters of the Commission shall be in Accra but there shall be in each region a Regional Lands Commission.

The present Law enforces the Federal Spatial Information Act of 5 October 2010. The Law lays down provisions relating to the enforcement of federal legislation in the field of geographic information and the collection, management and use of spatial data for the area of the Canton Luzern. Furthermore, the Law creates conditions for a cantonal spatial data infrastructure.

This Regulation was approved by the Scientific and Technical Council and was validated by the Committee on Land Reform and Land Resources of the Russian Federation.

This Act strengthens the legal framework concerning title to custom land and concerns management of custom land by customary institutions. It formalizes the recognition of customary institutions termed ‘nakamals’ and ‘custom area land tribunals’ to determine the rules of custom which form the basis of ownership and use of land in Vanuatu. In general the Act aims at holding of custom land by owners as a group. Custom land means land owned or occupied, or land in which an interest is held, by one or more persons in accordance with the rules of custom.
