The Support to Responsible Agricultural Investments (S2RAI) Project promotes internationally recognized principles and guidelines to ensure food and land tenure security for communities in the context of large-scale commercial land investment as well as strengthen the institutional frameworks and coordination structures at federal and regional levels in relations to responsible agricultural investment in Ethiopia.
Women also face marginalization and discrimination when it comes to land tenure security. However, strong land rights can help women break the cycle of poverty and be a strong lever for female empowerment. Therefore, the S2RAI project focuses on secure and gender-equitable land rights strengthening women farmers in rural Ethiopia. The S2RAI Project is implemented within the Global Programme Responsible Land Policy as part of the German Special Initiative “One World – No Hunger” of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
