The 2015 GLTN Partners’ Meeting happens at a strategic time in the life of the GLTN Network. The implementation of the GLTN Phase 2 project, running from 2012 to 2017, has reached its mid-term, country level engagement is well underway, global negotiations are ongoing for the sustainable Development Goals, and preparation for Habitat III including defining the New Urban Agenda are ongoing.
The 2015 Partners’ Meeting will focus on:
- Strengthening partnership and collaboration within the Network, and
- Increasing the visibility of land and tenure security in the ongoing global development processes.
In line with the two focus areas above, the specific objectives for the 6th GLTN Partners’ Meeting are:
- Review the GLTN tools’ development processes by Partners and Clusters and explore how joint tool development and implementation can be expanded;
- Review how GLTN Partners are delivering at country level and how joint delivery can be enhanced; 3. Increase the visibility of the land and tenure security issues and of the GLTN agenda in the ongoing global development processes and agree on a strategy for engagement;
- Improve collaboration and coordination between Clusters and Partners for improved delivery, report achievements of the last two years and make plans for the upcoming biennium under the lead of the newly elected IAB members;
- Take stock of the progress made in the implementation of the GLTN Phase 2 programme; this includes assessing how well the Network functions and contributes to the achievement of the GLTN goals, also in view of the mid-term evaluation, and looking at evidence and stories on the impact of GLTN’s work.
