This video highlights the events of the training of trainers on "Increasing the use of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forest (VGGT) among CSOs and Grassroots Organizations in the Philippines" held on 11-14 July 2016 in Tagaytay City, Philippines.

Sierra Leone's first documentary on Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) and the New Land Policy of Sierra Leone produced by Culture Radio 104.5 FM in cooperation with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

This study aims to assess the applicability of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forest in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) in urban and peri-urban areas. The study also aims to facilitate decision-making on the next steps needed to ensure the application of the VGGT in urban and peri-urban areas, including informing the implementers on how they can anchor the VGGT in their activities, i.e. to apply or use the VGGT in their work in urban and peri-urban areas.

80% of Cambodian people are farmers living in rural and remote areas. They are depending on agriculture, livestock and natural resource extraction to feed their families. Nearly last two decades, the royal government of Cambodia has tried its effort develop legal framework, infrastructure and urbanization to attract national and foreign investments to invest in Cambodia. while legal enforcement has been weak, some development plan has exploited and caused negative impacts on Cambodia people who are majority poor.

This is a short VoxPop to show the understanding level on VGGT Guideline among youths in Cambodia.

The purpose of these Voluntary guidelines is to serve as a reference and to provide guidance to improve the governance of tenure of land, sheries and forests with the overarching goal of achieving food security for all and to support the progressive realization of the right to adequate food in the context of national food security. The video tells about the implementation of the learning programme “Governing land for women and men”, which is part of the efforts to build capacities of change agents in five countries to implement the Voluntary Guidelines for responsible governance of tenure.

The key message of this video is that secure tenure rights provide the foundation for economic growth, enhanced food security and nutrition, reduced conflict, and improved natural resource management while also improving the overall investment environment, thereby fostering increased investment.

Ahead of a seminar in Brussels, Andrew Hilton, an FAO expert on land tenure, underlines the need for open dialogue with the private sector when implementing the Voluntary Guidelines.
