The Latvia University of Agriculture (LLU) Strategic Development Plan 2010-2016, was developed during 2009 and approved by the LLU Senate on June 10, 2009.
In order to perform its functions and implement its goals and objectives, the Latvia University of Agriculture has developed three activity programs:

2. Science
3. Administrative and financial support for studies and research work
The RUAF Foundation is a global network with member organisations in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Europe together constituting a leading centre of expertise in the field of (intra- and peri-) Urban Agriculture and City Region Food Strategies. The following organisations are currently part of the RUAF Foundation: the International Water Management Institute, The Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and ETC Foundation.
Ministry of Agriculture are responsible for agriculture, forest sector, fisheries, rural development, veterinery and food.
Functions of ministry are: Develop agriculture, forest sector and fishery policies; Organisation and coordination of agriculture, forest sector and fishery policies implementation.
Objective of the rural development policy is improving competitiveness of agriculture and forestry, applying new methods and technologies, and particularly, supporting young farmers.

MTT Agrifood Research Finland is leading research institute developing sustainability and competitiveness of the food system.
We conduct research within five research areas which utilize the expertise of the entire organization.
Operating under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, MTT employs around 750 people at 14 locations across Finland. Our head office is situated at Jokioinen, a 1.5-hour drive from Helsinki.
Filière Paysanne est une association indépendante qui agit pour une agriculture et une alimentation locale.
Elle a été créée, en mai 2009, à Marseille par des consom'acteurs recherchant des solutions d'approvisionnement auprès d'une agriculture familiale de proximité et favorisant un réseau de distribution en circuits courts équitable et écoresponsable.

Slow Food is a global, grassroots organization, founded in 1989 to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions, counteract the rise of fast life and combat people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from and how our food choices affect the world around us.
The International Agri-Food Network (IAFN) was formed in 1996 during the World Food Summit as an informal coalition of international trade associations involved in the agri-food sector at the global level. The network facilitates liaison among the member organizations and engages international organizations in the agri-food chain at a global level.
The South Solidarity Initiative (SSI), set up in April 2013, is a knowledge-activist hub currently hosted byActionAid India. The SSI aims to encourage critical debate and policy intervention on international issues related to India, be in solidarity with social movements and progressive actors in the south and push for alternatives that articulate a new internationalism.
CIARD is a global movement dedicated to open agricultural knowledge. We help to align the efforts of national, regional and international institutions, and to establish better connections to improve sharing of information and services.
Partners in CIARD believe that open knowledge makes it easier to develop better solutions to agricultural challenges. Furthermore, we contribute to reducing hunger and poverty, because agricultural development is such an important driver of economic growth.
