The Latvia University of Agriculture (LLU) Strategic Development Plan 2010-2016, was developed during 2009 and approved by the LLU Senate on June 10, 2009.


In order to perform its functions and implement its goals and objectives, the Latvia University of Agriculture has developed three activity programs:

The RUAF Foundation is a global network with member organisations in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Europe together constituting a leading centre of expertise in the field of (intra- and peri-) Urban Agriculture and City Region Food Strategies. The following organisations are currently part of the RUAF Foundation: the International Water Management Institute, The Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and ETC Foundation​.

MTT Agrifood Research Finland is leading research institute developing sustainability and competitiveness of the food system.
We conduct research within five research areas which utilize the expertise of the entire organization.

Operating under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, MTT employs around 750 people at 14 locations across Finland. Our head office is situated at Jokioinen, a 1.5-hour drive from Helsinki.

Ministry of Agriculture Republic of Latvia

Ministry of Agriculture are responsible for agriculture, forest sector, fisheries, rural development, veterinery and food.

Functions of ministry are: Develop agriculture, forest sector and fishery policies; Organisation and coordination of agriculture, forest sector and fishery policies implementation.

Objective of the rural development policy is improving competitiveness of agriculture and forestry, applying new methods and technologies, and particularly, supporting young farmers.

The Future Agricultures Consortium is an Africa-based alliance of research organisations seeking to provide timely, high-quality and independent information and advice to improve agricultural policy and practice in Africa.


Through a network of over 90 researchers across the region and around the world, we are showing how agricultural policy in Africa can help to reduce poverty and strengthen agricultural growth.


International Center for Tropical Agriculture

CIAT

Mission

To reduce hunger and poverty, and improve human nutrition in the tropics through research aimed at increasing the eco-efficiency of agriculture.

People

CIAT’s staff includes about 200 scientists. Supported by a wide array of donors, the Center collaborates with hundreds of partners to conduct high-quality research and translate the results into development impact. A Board of Trustees provides oversight of CIAT’s research and financial management.

The FAO Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition (FSN Forum), launched in 2007 and managed by the Agricultural Development Economics Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is based on the rationale that food security and nutrition issues benefit from being discussed and leveraged by a large community of people.


National Land Rights Forum - Nepal

NLRF

NLRF is a national people’s organization uniting those who are deprived of their land rights – bonded laborers, tenants, the landless, farmers, haruwa, charuwa and trust land farmers – and inciting them to action. Since its establishment in 2004, NLRF has been working towards its vision of a society where all tenants and landless farmers live dignified lives. NLRF operates in 50 of Nepal’s 75 districts, comprising 42 district-level and 2,072 village-level people’s organizations.

GODAN

GODAN supports the proactive sharing of open data to make information about agriculture and nutrition available, accessible and usable to deal with the urgent challenge of ensuring world food security.  It is a rapidly growing group, currently with over 317 partners from national governments, non-governmental, international and private sector organisations that have committed to a joint Statement of Purpose.
