We believe that poverty is unjustifiable and preventable, that the present state of inequality and injustice must be challenged, and that with the right help, poor people can change their lives for the better.

Our vision

Oxfam’s vision is a just world without poverty. We envisage a world in which people can influence decisions that affect their lives, enjoy their rights, and assume their responsibilities—a  world in which everyone is valued and treated equally.

KDNG is a network of Kachin civil society groups and development organizations inside Kachin State and abroad. It was in September 2004.

KDNG promotes the formation of a healthy civil society based on equality and justice for local people. It works to document the military government's exploitation of natural resources, collecting information large scale development including mining, mono crop plantation and hydropower.

The SHWE Gas Movement is concerned with a natural gas pipeline project presently unfolding in Western Burma.

In cooperation with Burma's military junta, a consortium of Indian and Korean corporations are currently exploring gas fields off the coast of Arakan State in Western Burma. Discovered in December 2003, these fields--labeled A-1, or "Shwe" (the Burmese word for gold)--are expected to hold one of the largest gas yields in Southeast Asia. These Shwe fields are destined to become the Burmese military government's largest single source of foreign income.

REPOA was formed in 1994 in Tanzania with the mandate to contribute to the alleviation of poverty in its multiple dimensions through research and capacity building. Over time, REPOA’s mandate has expanded beyond alleviating poverty to encompass growth and socio-economic transformation for poverty reduction.

AZMEC is the Association of Zambian Mineral Exploration Companies.

The aims and objectives of AZMEC are to provide a discussion forum and dedicated lobby group for mineral exploration companies and mining companies carrying out exploration as well as government representatives, NGO’s, service providers, academic institutions and other interested parties in Zambia with the view to contributing to the growth, promotion, and sustainable development of the sector in this country.

London Mining Network (LMN) is an alliance of human rights, development, environmental and solidarity groups.

We work for

• human rights, including the rights of Indigenous Peoples and workers, and
• sustainable development (development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs in communities around the world affected by the activities of mining companies based in or funded from London

Land Development and Governance Institute

MISSION: To contribute to improved livelihoods through offering a bridge between communities, stakeholders and policy makers in the promotion of equitable access and sustainable management of land and natural resources.

The Legal Resources Centre (LRC) is South Africa’s largest public interest, human rights law clinic. Established in 1979, we use the law as an instrument of justice for the vulnerable and marginalised, including poor, homeless and landless people.

Founded in 1911, SNC-Lavalin is a global fully integrated professional services and project management company and a major player in the ownership of infrastructure. From offices around the world, SNC-Lavalin's employees are proud to build what matters.

Advocacy and research organisation, aiming to monitor corporate and state conduct in the extraction and beneficiation of natural resources in Southern Africa region, in particular assessing to what extent these efforts contribute to sustainable development”.

IPIECA develops, shares and promotes good practice and knowledge to help the industry and improve its environmental and social performance. We do this with the understanding that the issues that dominate the sustainable development agenda – climate and energy, environmental and social issues – are too big for individual companies to tackle alone. The industry must work together to achieve improvements that have real impact. IPIECA helps to achieve this goal. 

We are a not-for-profit that unites stakeholders from the 7 sectors of the palm oil industry: oil palm producers, processors or traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks/investors, and environmental and social non-governmental organisations (NGOs), to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil.
