Han transcurrido 17 años desde la iniciación, en 1985, del conjunto de procesos nacionales de programación y ejecución de actividades forestales que contribuyen al desarrollo sostenible, conocido en un comienzo como los Planes de Acción Forestal Tropical (PAFT), y posteriormente, en 1992, con la revisión del marco inicial como los Programas de Acción Forestal Nacional (PAFN). Sucesivos esfuerzos para fortalecer esos procesos, superando sus iniciales deficiencias, dieron lugar a la estructuración de los programas forestales nacionales.

A full description of the forest sector in the Togolese Republic. The first part of the report underlines the differences between the natural forest versus the plantations and the availability of forest resources in the country. In addition, the second part also includes a synopsis of what forest products are consumed and those exported. The second part of the report describes the actual state of the statistics of these products. It comments the most important forest products like present situation in the country like construction wood, fuelwood, charcoal, round wood and sawn timber.

Le rapport traite des mesures à tenir en compte en ce qui concerne le développement des plantations forestières. Par ailleurs, la perspective des plantations forestières est présentée sous la forme de différents scénarios qui se basent sur la future croissance

A medium-size report that describes the overall situation of data on fuelwood in Burundi. The report starts with a general introduction of the study and the country. It is followed by a section describing the forest area, its uses and the legislation surrounding it. The following part states the country's forest resources distinguishing natural from artificial forests. Some attention is given to non-wood forest products and sustainable forest ecosystems. The latter parts are a view of the institutional and political atmospheres as well as the effects of the crisis on forest ecosystems.
