Austrian Development Agency

ADA

Austrian Development Agency GmbH (ADA) is the operational unit of Austrian Development Cooperation. On behalf of the Federal Government, it plans, finances and supports development programmes and projects in the countries of Africa, Asia, South-Eastern and Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. The goal of ADA is to improve conditions of life in developing countries and assist partner countries in their sustainable development. It also promotes projects in development communication and education in Austria to advance discussion on development cooperation.

It is also responsible for maintaining Canadian government offices abroad with diplomatic and consular status on behalf of all government departments.

FINNIDA

Finland’s Development Policy through FINNIDA works to improve the conditions in developing countries. NGOs play a critical role in implementing this policy in different countries. It allocates funds for projects and programmes to be implemented in regions across the world. Part of these funds are also channelized through the European Union and supports interventions in poor countries. A considerable portion of its funds are allocated to NGOs. It has prioritized some countries such as Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, India and Nepal for implementing its development policy.

Strathmore University

Strathmore College was started in 1961 as an Advanced-level Sixth Form College offering Science and Arts subjects by a group of professionals, who formed a charitable Educational Trust (now the Strathmore Educational Trust). Strathmore College was the first in Pre-independence Kenya to accommodate all races, religions, and social standing. Saint Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei, inspired and encouraged them to start the College.
