Cette étude propose une analyse de la dimension de genre au sein de la législation relative à l’agriculture et examine le statut juridique des femmes dans trois secteurs clés. Le résultat est une analyse qui identifie les principaux facteurs juridiques et certains facteurs non juridiques ayant une incidence sur l’existence et l’exercice des droits des femmes liés à l’agriculture.

As the population continues to grow and the economy develops, competition for water uses between different users has intensified and induced excessive strain on the environment. Climate change and water pollution further aggravate the situation. Today, 2.8 billion people are affected by some form of water scarcity, and the number of regions affected by water shortages is on the rise.

FAO has been coordinating global forest resources assessments every five to ten years since 1946 (FAO, 2006), with the objective to provide a periodic global and uniform picture of existing forests, derived trends and statistics. Especially FAO’s periodically reported deforestation rates enjoy a high degree of public attention and are widely cited in literature.
