Regional Law No. 52-OD “On ensuring fertility of agricultural land”.

The scope of this Regional Law shall be to ensure fertility of agricultural land by owners, landlords, land tenants and leaseholders. The main arrangements for ensuring soil fertility shall be: (a) elaboration and realization of regional programs; (b) soil, agrochemical, phytosanitary, ecological and toxicological inspection; (c) investments in soil conservation and reproduction; and (d) improvement of soil quality and fertility.

This Regulation of the Forestry Development Authority (FDA), made National Forestry Reform Law of 2006 concerns sound approach to forest land use planning to maximize the benefits of forest land allocation to Liberian society as a whole. Forest land use planning must be consistent with national land use priorities in all sectors and proposed uses for forest lands must be validated locally to ensure the accuracy and legitimacy of the planning process, and the results reached.

The present Ministerial Order by the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations provides for the implementation of Ecosystem Based Management (EBM) on forested lands in the Great Bear Rainforest (GBR). It establishes legal objectives pursuant to section 93.4 of the Land Act, for the purpose of directing forest practices implemented under the Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA).

This Regulation of the Forestry Development Authority (FDA) establishes the responsibilities of Person harvesting or making Commercial Use of Forest Resources under a Forest Resources License ("the Operator") with respect to the rights of private land owners and provides for a right of compensation to land owners harmed as a result of any activity or process carried out pursuant to a Forest Resources License. The Operator shall take all measures necessary to prevent harm to the property of private land owners resulting from operations, without limitation.

These Regulations amend the principal Regulations in respect of payments of aid to farmers in nitrate sensitive areas and determine the rates of payment in accordance with article 5(1)(b) of Council Regulation (EC) 2078/92. They vary the annual payment rates of certain options under the Basic Scheme and the Premium Arable Scheme (reg. 3).

Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Act Enforcement Rules (2010).

These Rules, consisting of 29 articles, are formulated in accordance with the Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Act.Competent authorities at all levels shall adopt appropriate measures to investigate pollution, including: 1. Investigation of land type, actual use, and state of ownership; 2. Inventory of pollution sources; 3. Preservation of verifying documents connected with pollution investigation responsibilities; etc.

These Rules, consisting of 32 articles, are formulated in accordance with the Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Act.The competent authority with local jurisdiction shall determine the possible scope of pollution when performing verification work. Prior to the official announcement of the area as a control site, the competent authority may order the polluter or user, manager or owner of the site to adopt appropriate measures within a limited time period.

Sanitary and other conditions of storage, neutralisation and utilisation of liquid urban wastes are determined in the Annex to this Decree. Technological instructions regarding the operation of neutralisation plants must be presented for approval to the territorially competent inspector of the National Public Health and Epidemics Service and to the Environmental Protection Authority. Part Three of the Annex permits explicitly the utilisation of neutralised wastes for soil improvement.

Shooting and Fishing Leases Ordinance, 1966 (No. 9 of 1966).

This Ordinance of the Legislature of Mauritius concerns the award of lease of the right to shoot and go in pursuit of game and to fish, hunt or fowl on Crown Lands. The Ordinance sets out procedural requirements for such award by the Minister, which may be done through public auction. There shall be attached to the deed of lease a plan showing the boundaries of the land to which the lease refers. A lease may be for any period not exceeding fourteen years. the Ordinance also sets out rights and obligations of lessees.
