The aim of the present Act is to regulate the stewardship of conservation of land. To this end the Minister may promote programs to recognize, encourage and support measures for the conservation of land. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein such as, for example, “areas of natural and scientific interest”, “conservation land”, “conservation authority land”, “wetlands”.

This Law establishes the norms for the previous State approval of land parcelling projects for urban purposes in the areas declared of special interest for environmental protection. The Law, composed of 5 articles, individuates the binding norms for the approval process focused on vegetation protection, soil natural composition and conservation of lakes, ponds, lagoons, water courses and their related waterfront zones.

The aim pursued by this Act is the protection of nature as a whole, in such a way that land, sea, freshwater and air are not wasted or polluted. Taking into special account the exceptional and historical aspects of Icelandic nature, the Act shall enhance the nation’s access to and familiarity with the natural environment (art. 1).Once the Act has defined the aims pursued, articles 2 to 8 provide for the institutional framework which shall be in charge of the implementation of these provisions. It shall include the Ministry of the Environment (art.

The Act establishes the Brisbane Forest Park and provides for its management. It is divided in 7 Parts (91 sections). Part 2 specifies which land can become part of the park and the effects on proprietors’ rights of land’s inclusion in the park (sect. 11). Part 3 constitutes the Brisbane Forest Park Advisory Planning Board and specifies its composition, operation, functions and powers. Part 4 establishes the Brisbane Forest Park Administration Authority, a corporation sole constituted by the Minister, responsible for the management of the park.

This Act prescribes steps necessary for the protection of any protected area or protected place. No person shall be in the premises of protected areas or places unless in possession of a permit issued by an authorized officer.The Act further provides for defensive measures which involve or may involve danger to the life of any person entering or attempting to enter a protected area or protected place.

This Act makes provision for the conservation, use, management and control of land situated in mountain catchment areas. "Mountain catchment area" means any area declared by the Minister or competent authorities of provinces under section 2 to be a mountain catchment area.

The amendments concern the need for authorization from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Agriculture for the conversion of forest and valley land into the following: 1. making farmland, orchard, rangeland, artificial forests, forage land, livestock institutions, aquatic breeding institutions, as well as the use for mine exploting and exploration (in nothern Iran); and 2. establishment of factories, townships, schools, training institutions, sport clubs, etc.

This Act lays down the basic principles of forest management and conservation, makes provision for the administration of forestry (Chap. I), the survey and classification of lands for purposes of forestry (Chap. II), and the use of forest resources (Chap. III).Basic policy principles are outlined in section 2. This Act provides for the preservation of ancient and historical monuments and archaeological sites and remains of national importance and for the regulation of archaeological activities in India.The Central Government will have the power to declare ancient monuments or archaeological sites, etc. to be of national importance. The Director General may, with the sanction of the Central Government, purchase, take lease or assume the guardianship of any protected monument, for its protection or preservation.
