This document contains the proceedings of the Subregional Workshop on Land Water Information Systems (LWRIS) in the Caribbean, held in Barbados in October 2000. The meeting was organized by FAO Land and Water Development Division (AGL), in collaboration with the Caribbean Agricultural and Research Development Institute.
This Act provides for town and country planning and other planning in relation with development in Barbados.The Act defines duties of the Minister and constitutes a Town and Country Planning Advisory Committee. Development plans shall be prepared by the Chief Town Planner.
The constitution was promulgated by Queen Elizabeth II through an Order in Council at independence.
This Act concerns civil proceedings initiated by or against the Crown and rights and civil liability of the Crown and concerns property, including land, of the Crown subject to proceedings or claims.
This Act makes provision for the payment of compensation for withholding of property by persons acting in collusion with tenants and for the recovery of non-paid rent. The Act also makes provision for the renewal of leases without the surrender of land.
This Act amends the Land Valuation Act in section 10 by inserting a subsection which disapplies subsections (1) and (2) of that section to hotels within the meaning of section 6B of the Land Tax Act, Cap. 78A for a specified period. Section 10 concerns new valuations.

This Act concerns the validity of claims of prescription which may be lawfully made at common law or by custom to any way or other easement or to any watercourse or to the use of any water, to be enjoyed or derived upon, over or from any land or water. The Act, among other things, sets out criteria for the computation of the period after which a claim shall be held valid.
