This Act provides for the establishment of the Land Development Authority as a body corporate. It shall be the duty of the Authority to promote and assist the investigation, formation and carrying out of projects for the development, improvement and settlement of land. The Authority may establish a reserve fund. The Authority may make rules not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act. The Authority, with the approval of the Minister, may establish a corporation to carry out and have the charge, conduct and management of any project, scheme or enterprise which has been planned or undertaken by the Authority in execution of its duty or discharge of its functions under this Act, and may in like manner cancel, vary or amend any such order. The Minister may by order with the advice of the Authority establish local development boards.
