This Act aims at protecting and preserving heritage places in Prince Edward Island. Under section 1, an heritage place is a place which includes or is comprised of an historic resource of an immovable nature. Section 2 defines the responsibilities of the Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs, section 3 provides for the establishment and the operation of the Heritage Places Advisory Board, sections 4 to 16 concern the management of heritage places and include provisions on designation and registration of heritage places, permits, inspections and offences and penalties.
