This Act makes provision for various matters in relation with the government of Tonga including the Cabinet, the Privy Council, the Legislative Assembly, Ministers and local authorities.The Minister of Lands shall be the representative of the Crown in all matters concerning the land of Tonga. Any District Officer may make Regulations for the administration of village plantations and other necessary matters relating to the welfare of the people of his village. Such Regulations shall be valid only if sanctioned by the Cabinet. The District Officer may enforce such Regulations in the town for which the Regulations were made. Any noble or chief holding a hereditary estate may make Regulations for the people who reside on his or her hereditary estate and such Regulations shall be sanctioned by Cabinet.
