This Act provides for the establishment of the Dera Ghazi Khan Development Authority, defines its powers and functions and provides for its administration and functioning.Powers and functions of the Authority include: preparation, implementation and enforcement of schemes for development of agriculture and industry, forest conservation, development of irrigation facilities, development of mineral resources, construction and development of water supply, sewerage, drainage, environmental improvement and solid waste disposal; acquisition of property; and sale, lease or disposal of property.The Act further provides for: powers of the Authority to give directions to Government Agencies, execute schemes, act as a Local Council, levy and assess betterment fees in respect of property, etc.; establishment of a fund to be known as the “Authority Fund”; offences and penalties; etc.
