This Act provides for the establishment of the Lahore Development Authority, defines its powers and functions and provides for its administration and functioning.Powers and functions of the Authority include: preparation, implementation and enforcement of schemes for environmental improvement and solid waste disposal; acquisition of property; and sale, lease or disposal of property.The Act further provides for: powers of the Authority to give directions to Government Agencies, execute schemes, act as a Local Council, levy and assess betterment fees in respect of property, remove sources of pollution, etc.; establishment of a fund to be known as the “Lahore Development Authority Fund”; offences and penalties; etc.
