An Ordinance to make provision for the preservation and protection of the soil and for the control and improvement of crop production and livestock and the marketing thereof.

This Ordinance empowers the Council Committee to order in writing the owner or occupier of land to undertake or adopt such measures as they may deem necessary for the conservation of natural resources on such land and the prevention of injury to the natural resources on other land. Such Order may be made for prohibiting, regulating or controlling, among other things: (a) the breaking or clearing of land for the purposes of cultivation; (b) the grazing or watering of livestock; (c) the firing, clearing or destruction of vegetation; or (d) afforestation of deforestation. Any person who disagrees with any Order made under this Ordinance may appeal to the Governor in Council. The Governor in Council may make Rules for specified purposes concerning protection of land and agriculture.
